The DC Supper Club: Chef Justin Fang

DC Urban Oasis presents an evening with Chef Justin Fang. It began at his grandparents' table, where the flavors of Shanghai, Fujian, and Taiwan were shared with love at every family gathering. Those early experiences planted something that has followed him into every kitchen since. This evening, Chef Justin honors that foundation through Chinese cuisine rooted in Sichuan, Shanghai, and Taiwanese traditions.

ABOUT THE CHEF

Chef Justin Fang is a Los Angeles native who built his culinary career in DC, specializing in Chinese cuisine rooted in Sichuan, Hokkien, and Taiwanese traditions, with influences from Mexican, Korean, and Nordic cooking. Largely self-taught and raised in a food-loving household, he sharpened his craft at SHIA under Chef Edward Lee, working as a cook and tournant across five seasonal menus.

Chef Justin is a CMS Certified Sommelier and the Owner & Private Chef behind Wasei, where he has hosted private corporate dining events and cooked for pop-up collaborations with Bayleaf Bitters, AJM Kimchi, and Shia x Edrington.
